Press to Reset World es un entorno virtual generado con imágenes y frases provenientes de distintos sitios web seleccionadas por la artista, donde explora maneras alternas de construir un lugar, sin necesariamente recurrir a elementos arquitectónicos o aquellos recursos convencionalmente asociados a la idea de espacio habitable.

En un esfuerzo muy similar al de los gabinetes de curiosidades del siglo XVI, Alina Sánchez colecciona productos culturales con el propósito de establecer un orden en medio de la producción voraz de información que caracteriza a la dinámica digital. De esta manera, ella explora otra forma de crear: mientras que para el espíritu moderno lo importante era la fabricación objetual, la producción de sentido a través de la selección se vuelve aquí un asunto primordial en la práctica artística. 

Press to Reset World is a virtual environment generated with images and phrases selected by the artist from different websites, where she explores alternative ways of building a place, without necessarily using architectural elements or those resources conventionally associated with the idea of space.

In a very similar intention to the so-called ‘cabinets of curiosities’ from the 16th century, Alina Sánchez collects cultural products with the purpose of establishing an order in the midst of the voracious production of information that characterizes digital dynamics. In this way, she explores another way of creating: while for the modern spirit the manufacture of objects was important, here the production of meaning through selection becomes a primary issue in artistic practice.
