Para la realización de esta instalación, la artista retomó un modelo viejo de televisión y la acondicionó para que funcionara como una pecera, añadiéndole un conjunto de sensores que sirven para detectar y convertir los movimientos del pez en estímulos sonoros y visuales.

Temáticamente, esta pieza se basa en una serie de experiencias personales y oníricas que la artista ha tenido, donde los peces han operado simbólicamente como heraldos de alguna situación negativa.

Con el fin de que el espectador explore el imaginario de la artista y el lugar que los peces ocupan en él, Sueño con peces invita al público a tratar de decifrar lo que el pez “dice” con sus movimientos, de una manera similar a lo que le ocurrió a la artista cuando se encontró por primera vez con estos seres en sus sueños.

For the making of this installation, the artist took an old television model and modded it to function as a fish tank, adding a set of digital sensors that detect and convert the movements of the fish into sound and visual signals.

Thematically, this piece is based on artist’s personal and dreamlike experiences, where fish have operated symbolically as harbingers.

In order for the viewers to explore the artist's imagination and the place that fish occupy in it, Sueño con peces invites them to try to decipher what the fish “is trying to say” with its movements, in a similar way to what happened to the artist when she encountered these beings in her dreams for the first time.




It was part of the group exhibition of parallel dreams curated by Carla Rippey in 2021.
